Mental Health & Wellbeing
It's okay to ask for help. Our team provides compassionate mental health support - from an initial conversation with your GP through to specialist psychiatry and counselling.

How It Works
Start by booking a longer appointment (20+ minutes) with one of our GPs. They'll talk through what's going on and work out the best path forward for you.
If ongoing support is needed, your GP can create a Mental Health Care Plan. This gives you access to up to 10 Medicare-subsidised sessions with a psychologist or counsellor per year.
For more complex needs, we have an in-house psychiatrist who can provide specialist assessment and ongoing management.
What We Can Help With
Anxiety & Depression
Assessment, care plans, medication management, and referrals for counselling or psychology.
Stress & Burnout
Support for work-related stress, life transitions, and coping strategies.
Youth Mental Health
Supportive care for adolescents and young adults navigating mental health challenges. See also our children's health services.
Psychiatry
In-house specialist psychiatry with Dr Dhanushka De Silva for complex or ongoing conditions.
Mental Health Care Plans
A Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) is prepared by your GP and gives you Medicare rebates for sessions with a psychologist, social worker, or occupational therapist.
You're entitled to up to 10 individual sessions per calendar year. Your GP will review the plan with you to make sure the support is working.
Mental Health Care Plans are bulk billed at Helios.
Psychiatry at Helios
Dr Dhanushka De Silva (FRANZCP) provides psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and management on-site. A GP referral is required.
Two pathways are available: a one-off assessment and management plan (your GP continues as primary provider), or ongoing psychiatric care for complex conditions.
